In Lincoln Hills Softball, the appeal
is made quite easy.
- Any fielder may appeal to an umpire without even touching the base. He must state the situation though: example; "The second runner missed third base."
- Appeals may be made for missed bases, leaving base too early on sacrifice flies, and missed tags.
- You may appeal to an umpire to ask his partner for help in a situation.
- The umpire does not have to comply if he feels he had clear vision of the play.

Obstruction
- The batter/runner must be given a path to run unless:
or
- the fielder has the ball
- A fielder must not block the base or baseline unless he/she meets one of the criteria above.
- The umpire is in authority to award a baserunner a base or bases as seen fit for the situation

The Infield Fly rule
- Put in to protect runners on base
- Applies with less than two out and runners at first and second, or bases loaded
- The batter will be called out on a fair ball popped into the air which can be handled by an infielder with normal effort
- The runners may advance at their own risk if the ball is dropped, but are not forced to do so
- It does not matter whether a ball is lost in the sun, or infielder trips, etc., if it is a ball that a fielder could catch, the infield fly rule applies

- The "Can" player may play only three positions, RF,C, or 2B.
- He must hit in the last spot in the batting order open to him.
- He will be given only one base on any hit.
- Runners on base will not advance, unless forced to do so.
