Rules Changes Proposal Policy
This proposal policy is to assist all players, mgrs., etc. in submitting changes or additions to existing LHSSL Rules.
1. The Commissioner will accept all applications for rule changes from August 15th thru Jan. 15th each year.
2. Each application should specify exactly what rule the Author (s) wants changed or added to the LHSSL Rules in a written form. It would be preferred in a typed format.
3. Each application must have the Author (s) name and date of the application upon submittal.
4. The Commissioner will accept the rules changes/additions requests. The Commissioner will keep them; and, post possible rule changes/additions requests at DWF w/o the Author (s) name on the proposal.
5. The Commissioner will select up to (6) LHSSL Members to serve on a Rules Committee that will discuss possible rule changes/additions. The Commissioner will also serve on the Rules Committee. The proposals will be discussed and voted upon.
6. Any rule accepted by the Rule Committee will be submitted to the LHSSL Board prior to the February Workshop. The Board will then accept or deny the rule change/addition. All rules accepted by the Board will be disseminated to the LHSSL Membership at the March General Meeting.
7. The Commissioner will contact the Author (s) of a rejected proposal (ASAP) to inform same of the Rule Committee's reason for rejection. The contact will be in a written form.
8. A rule change/addition that addresses any SAFETY ISSUE can be brought to the attention of ANY Board Member, and can be acted upon by the Board as needed. The proposal does not need to be given in a written format.
