MINUTES FOR SOFTBALL

MEETING 10/07/08

Meeting called to order by president John Bush at 3:03

Board members present: John Bush, Marty Rubin, Stan Young, Dar Gallaway,

Steve Russo, and Montie Boatwright. Former treasurer Barry Kendrigan

sat in for Bruce Briggs who was out of town.

New member Bill Lampkin recognized and welcomed.

Minutes approved by membership, motion by Paul Krow and seconded by

Chris Berney.

John brought membership up to date on field and revised winter league start date

of 11/03/08. Date made later due to field maintenance problems.

He also said that the summer league will start on April 13^th and opening day would be

about 2 weeks later. All Star game to be played in middle of year with a final championship

game ending the season.

Dar said banquet was successful. Wellness recognized Darrell Weyrens and Terry

Fox for broken arm and throat cancer respectively. Terry may require help in

transportation or food pickup or delivery.

Montie on draft: Because of field problems, the draft was moved to the 28^th and

30^th of October. First games would start on the following Monday. Game schedules

are currently tentative depending on field update. He also recognized the success of

the umpires breakfast.

Stan Young announced Marty Rubin, Vince Del Pozzo, John Moran, John

Habein, Ross Pelton and himself would make up the rules committee for the

upcoming year.

He also announced AED training would take place in Oct and anyone interested

should sign up.

The commissioner also said the keys to locks on the field would be changed and

Asst. commissioner Jim Wyatt would be in charge. Also he and Jim would be

at the field on Oct. 30^th to collect recyclable items.

Barry gave the updated treasurer report, with an ending balance on 9/30/08 of

$14,690.89.

NO NEW BUSINESS.

OLD BUSINESS: A few concerns involving the infield and member Bill Stroh

brought up a grass infield and had we looked into it. The scoreboard was also

brought up and where it was.

Next meeting would be in February 3^rd due to election, and holidays. However,

board would meet on regular workshop date.
