MINUTES
Tuesday, March 6

1. Call to Order
Bob
Fernandez, President, called the meeting to order at 3:02 pm. Board members present in addition to Bob
Fernandez were: Montie Boatwright, J.R. Jackson, Chris Berney, Barry Kendrigan, and Vince Del Pozzo.
- A total of 83 members attended the
meeting, which were 20 members above the required quorum. A copy of the attendance sheet is
attached to the file copy of the minutes.
- Bob asked for approval of the February
minutes, which were approved unanimously.
- Introduction of new members Welcome!
LHSSL
Constitution for Charter Club Status
Motion made
and seconded to approve the LHSSL Constitution.
Unanimously approved.
(Bob
Fernandez left at 3:03 pm to attend the CCOC meeting regarding the leagues
charter application. J.R. Jackson
presided and continued the meeting. Bob
returned at 3:15 pm.)
Bake Sale
for Opening Day Sandy Datzman
Sandy
explained the flyer for the Opening Day Bake Sale. Volunteers are signed up. The flyer will be included with the raffle
tickets.
2. Board Committee Reports
Schedule
of Events Vince Del Pozzo
- Thanks to committee for doing ratings
based on a 1-10 point scale.
- Three day clinics: March 7, 12 and 14 at
9:45 am
Teams 1-5: March 7 9:45 am 2 to 3 hours
Teams 6-10: March 12
Teams 11-15: March 14
All managers asked to stand up for recognition.
- Introduction of Tuck Halsey organizing
clinics & has a crew of 18 players assisting at the clinics.
- Vince announced each team and their
sponsor.
- Saturday, April 28 Opening Day (If rain out, Saturday, May 5);
- Monday, April 30 first league game;
- June 27 end of first half;
- Week of July 2 July 15: no league games (July 4 game - City of
Lincoln vs. our league);
- July 16 start of second half of
season;
- September 5 end of second half
of season;
- September 10 & 11 make-up games;
- September 12 21 play-offs
start (double elimination tournament);
- September 24 all star games & banquet
in evening.

Field
Improvements, Uniforms, Equipment, Rules
- J.R. Jackson
- Field closures: March 5, 6, 8 (after 12 pm), 13, 19, 20,
26 & 27 fact- finding committee went to Arizona. Maintenance is doing lots of work
including laser leveling of field.
Maintenance stated we would have the same composition as Pac Bell
field.
- Policy for field use Policy on website
and posted at field. The policy
avoids schedule conflicts, problems with managers, etc.
- Uniforms Thanks to Stan Young for
assisting J.R. with inspecting all of the uniforms. Starting this year the leaguer will
replace uniforms on a rotational basis of every 4 to 5 years.
- Replacements of uniforms this year: Umpqua, Remax, Safeway, Placer Sierra
Bank, and Rainbow.
- New team uniforms Rebark Time and
First Bank.
- We will purchase new shirts from
Grapevine Apparel for $14.75 each.
A savings of 25% from previous years.
- Practice dates: March 21 & 28; April 2, 4, 9 &
11
- Practice games: April 16, 18, 23, & 25. Schedule will be posted soon on website
and at field.
- No softball games on May 28 (Memorial
Day) and September 3 (Labor Day).
- Anyone interested learning AED
(defibrillator) training was asked to sign a list. If interested and did not sign the list,
please contact J.R. Jackson.
- Incident reports must be made of serious
injuries on the field using the forms available at the Wave. Reports must be done within 24
hours. J.R. Jackson will make a
modified report form to be available at the field.
- Thanks to LHSSL league for contributions
to Marilyn Jackson and her school.
Board approved donation of old audio equipment to Don Julio Junior H.S.
- Phone now located in the scoreboard
booth.
Opening
Day and Wellness Montie Boatwright
- Dennis Ratay Dennis had a heart attack
on the field at a Coyotes 65s practice.
Great to see Dennis at our general meeting.
- Thanks to Nick Mastrella for organizing
the umpires and glad he is on the mend.
Opening
Day
- Going quite well and thanks to Sandy for
the bake sale.
- Montie asked for a volunteer(s) to take
pictures.
- George Bunyard and J.R. Jackson are
helping with the raffle.
- We still need volunteers to help sell
food and raffle tickets.
Scoreboard Operators: Joe Spinali is in charge of organizing the
operators.
3. Old Business
- Bob reported that the CCOC approved our
charter status. Hurray!
- Player Newsletter Meet Your Fellow
Players Sarah Towne
Mary Ales wrote the article on Mike and Joann
Hilton and the article should be on the website soon.
4. New Business
- Ed Sorensen is organizing the
instructional league that will start Thursday, March 29 from 2 to 4 pm.
Supervised drills geared toward less skilled
players, but everyone is welcomed.
- Next general meeting: Tuesday, April 3 -- 3:00 pm OC
Heights & Gables
5. Open Forum
- Suggestion
by member that AED & CPR training be held at Lincoln Hills.
- George
Bungarz, Manger of Mangers (M.O.M), doing an
outstanding job. He will contact
all managers regarding their first meeting.
