MINUTES

1. Call to Order
Bob
Fernandez, President, called the meeting to order at 2:06 pm. Board members present in addition to Bob
Fernandez were: Montie Boatwright, J.R. Jackson, Chris Berney, Barry Kendrigan.
- A total of 47 members attended the
meeting, which were 20 members below the required quorum. A copy of the attendance sheet is
attached to the file copy of the minutes.
- Bob asked for approval of the October
minutes, which were approved unanimously.
2. Board Committee Reports

Daniels continues to recover at home.
Vince
Del Pozzo had surgery Tuesday, and he is doing well.
Ron
Greeno will have surgery on December 7.
Pete
Savoia is going to have surgery.
Al
Gardner had surgery on his foot.
Ben
Hovis has a problem with his knee.
Clyde
Mills will have surgery on his knee.
We wish them a speedy recovery. Please keep them in your thoughts &
prayers.
- Field Closure Dates – J.R. Jackson
November 20 – 24:
field will be closed every day (Thanksgiving vacation). When games are cancelled due to weather
Board members are at the field early to make a decision on conditions.
We
now have a phone tree to contact managers when games are cancelled.
Winter
league ends January 10.
July
2 – 16, 2007, field closed for maintenance work.
3. Old Business
- Coyotes 65’s went to the Senior
Games in St. George, Utah, & won the Gold medal!
- 60’s team & Sun Eagles did a
“fine job.”
Congratulations to all of the teams.
- 501 Update: Bob Fernandez explained charter
club status. Ed Sorensen gave
additional explanations. Bob
will list pros & cons regarding charter status & post on the
website. The issue will be discussed at the February
6, 2007, general meeting and a vote taken at that time.
4. New
Business
·
New bats will be purchased for the summer league. 12 dozen balls have been purchased. Discussion regarding replacing some of
the team uniforms. Equipment
inventory will be done next week.
·
Question regarding lines at second & third bases.
·
Question regarding the one & one count.
·
Question regarding shade covers.
· J.R. requested that individuals submit written
concerns regarding rules & safety.
The committee at a January meeting will review the issues.
·
Next general meeting: Tuesday,
February 6 -- 3:00 pm – Location TBA
5. Open
Forum
·
Question regarding Bat Day.
·
Bob shared information regarding infield maintenance. Chris, field maintenance director, is
planning a trip to Arizona to view a synthetic field.
·
Announcement regarding 65+ softball players’ practices &
try-outs. Chris will send out flyer
through email.
·
Question regarding playing recreation games on Fridays &
Saturdays. Traveling teams use
field on weekends for practices & games. Saturday also open to the public.
·
Monte Boatwright discussed scoreboard operators and proposed that each
team provide one or two scorekeepers for games.
·
